Economic Stimulus Act of 2008
On February 13, President Bush signed the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. The law is designed to boost the US. economy by providing tax rebates to individuals and tax incentives for businesses.

Michigan Tax Changes
On October 1, 2007, the Michigan State Legislature reached an agreement regarding revenue increases to balance the 2007-2008 State Budget.
The Michigan income tax withholding rates rise effective immediately from the current 3.9% to 4.35%. The bill was written so that the rate will decrease from 4.35% to 3.95% in .1% annual increments beginning October 1, 2011. On October 1, 2015, it will decrease to 3.90%. Michigan Business Tax
Governor Granholm recently signed into law the Michigan Business Tax or MBT. The Governor has said that a simple, fair, competitive tax structure is critical to bringing jobs to the state. In her weekly radio address on July 6, she stated, “Our highly competitive Michigan Business Tax will further bolster Michigan's position as a great place for businesses to grow and create jobs."
