Yeo & Yeo’s Meg Warner Named Among Mid-Michigan 40 Under 40

CPAs & Advisors

Yeo & Yeo, a leading Michigan advisory firm, is proud to announce that Meg Warner, CPA, has been recognized among the 2024 Mid-Michigan 40 Under 40. This award highlights young professionals under 40 who excel in their careers and make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Warner was nominated by Curtis Dancer, a Yeo & Yeo client. Dancer said, “Meg demonstrates exceptional leadership in Gratiot County through her work and community service. She is a rising star in her field, recognized by many for going above and beyond.”

Warner’s journey with Yeo & Yeo began in 2019 when she joined the firm as a Senior Accountant in the Assurance Service Line. From day one, her passion for serving governmental entities, school districts, and nonprofits was clear, leading her to become a key member of the firm’s Government Services Group. Recently promoted to Manager, Warner now leads engagements and ensures her clients experience a smooth and efficient audit process. “I love working with governmental, nonprofit, and education clients because their missions are so impactful,” said Warner. “It’s incredibly rewarding to help these organizations succeed and serve their communities better.”

Warner is deeply committed to her profession. She serves on the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants’ Governmental Accounting & Auditing Professional Panel, supporting finance officers through conferences and webinars. Internally, she assists in training on governmental accounting, sharing her knowledge to help others grow. Her hard work and dedication were recognized in 2023 when she was honored with the Women to Watch – Emerging Leader award from the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Beyond sharing her technical knowledge, Warner also enjoys mentoring the next generation of accountants. As the former president of the Yeo Young Professionals, she spearheaded networking events that connected young professionals across the firm, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth. In 2023, she led the Yeo Young Professionals Service Project and helped raise more than $12,000 for Michigan Special Olympics—a cause close to her heart.

Outside of Yeo & Yeo, Warner is actively involved in the Gratiot County Community Foundation, where she serves on the grant committee, helping to direct resources to critical local initiatives. For over seven years, she has volunteered with Central Michigan Youth for Christ, where she earned the “Whatever It Takes” award for her unwavering commitment to serving youth.

“Meg’s leadership and dedication to both her clients and the community are truly inspiring,” said Ali Barnes, CPA, CGFM, Managing Principal of the Alma office. “She has a unique ability to lift those around her, especially our young professionals, by leading with kindness and determination. Her impact within the firm and beyond is a testament to her character.”

The Mid-Michigan 40 Under 40 program, organized by the Middle Michigan Development Corporation (MMDC) and Greater Gratiot Development Inc., highlights young professionals in Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, and Osceola counties. This year’s honorees were celebrated at the Coming Home: Middle Michigan event on October 11, 2024, at the Courtyard Marriott in Mt. Pleasant.
